Valparaiso Tour: CHI/A02 Pablo Neruda Poetry Tour, FD
Pablo Neruda was one of the most notable poets of the 20th century. A Literature Nobel Prize laureate, his name jumped to fame a few years ago with the release of the Italian film “Il Postino.” Our excursion starts with a visit to La Sebastiana, Neruda’s favorite house in Valparaiso, now a museum. The house overlooks the bay and contains some of the poet’s maritime collections. Then, we continue to Isla Negra, a beachside community where Neruda built one of his homes. Admire eccentric architecture and his personal, sea-related collection including bottles, ship figureheads and shells. During the tour some poems and odes will be read so we can connect with the poet’s work. There will be a stop at charming Café del Poeta restaurant for lunch (not included).
